The Dutch minister of traffic Schultz van Haegen recently gave the green light for tests involving self driving cars without a driver.
This could mean the next step concerning the advancement of self driving cars in The Netherlands.
Currently self driving cars can only be tested on public roads as long as there is a driver present.
However it is not just vehicles that need technological advancements to accomplish autonomous driving.
Roads and traffic information need to become smarter as well, a great example of such an initiative is the ‘Smart Highway’.
