In The Spotlight: Neill & Brown

In our series ‘In The Spotlight’ we shine the light on our customers. How do they use the premium services from DKV Mobility, coveringall aspects of on-the-road supply and mobility for truck and car fleets?For this blog post we talked to Michael Organ from Neill & Brown Global Logistics, a respected British logistics provider serving companies with efficient, integrated supply-chain solutions from their strategic headquarters in the Humber region.

What is your role at Neill & Brown?

I am working as Fleet Manager at Neill & Brown. One of my responsibilities is to ensure our drivers can drive worry-free and without disruption through the UK, Ireland and Europe. Toll boxes, including the EETS boxes we use for Europe, play an important role to achieve this. As Fleet Manager, I am responsible for the purchase and the installation of the toll boxes, and the training of our drivers to ensure they are using the boxes correctly.  

Can you tell us more about the company?

It’s our mission to serve our customers around the globe, around the clock. Since our founding over a century ago, we became one of the most experienced European and UK logistics providers. We have a thorough understanding of domestic and global markets, and outstanding expertise in transportation, abnormal loads, warehousing documentation, packaging and insurance. We transport to many European countries, including Germany, the Netherlands, France, Belgium, Italy and Spain.

What are your current business challenges?

Since Brexit, there is a lot of focus in our company on customs clearance, to ensure a smooth passage of the goods of our customers. This is a lot of work, and we hired 13 additional employees in the last 6 months alone to handle the paperwork. To give you an example, sometimes it takes nearly a month to clear a load. Of course, customs clearance is only one side of the business, and whilst we are very busy, we never lose sight of our future goals, such as expanding our business and getting new people on board.

When and why did you start using the services from DKV Mobility?

Our relationship with DKV Mobility goes back a long time. We are working with the company for over 9 years and we never had any reason to change. DKV Mobility always supported and supports us, through all our challenges.

What is your opinion of the DKV BOX EUROPE?

Tolls have never been so easy to settle: the beauty of the DKV BOX EUROPE is that we only have to deal with two invoices per month, for all our trucks, all over Europe. As it’s all electronic, tolls no longer slow down our drivers. It’s a lot better than it used to be, with multiple toll systems to be deployed for different European countries.

What makes the DKV BOX EUROPE different than other toll boxes?

The DKV BOX EUROPE is user friendly and quick to install. After installation, the box stores all the information about the truck in the program, so the only thing you need to worry about is the trailer. To program the actuals of the trailer into the system takes only 2 or 3 minutes and you’re ready to depart. For our drivers it’s easy to understand as well. For example, as soon as the driver arrives in Belgium or Germany, the box starts to flash green and the driver can read the relevant information in the display of the box. It’s been a breath of fresh air after years of awkward toll boxes.

What do you think of working together with DKV Mobility? What stands out?

The communication with DKV is very good. If I have any problems or issues, they are always there for us. Even though we sometimes have to deal with different people, for example for new orders, our main contact person in the United Kingdom, Ross Dunkley always replies immediately when I have a question – and he gives good advice on how to better our business too.

Would you recommend using DKV BOX EUROPE to other companies?


If companies look for ease-of-use when it comes to toll services, I can definitely recommend the DKV BOX EUROPE. Everything you need to drive worry-free throughout Europe comes together in this one box. Of course, there are other companies with a similar box, but if you also want to profit from years of experience in the background, the DKV BOX EUROPE is the box to use.
