DKV Group offsets CO₂

EUR 25,000 invested in climate protection projects / Group finds more ways to reduce CO₂ emissions

The DKV MOBILITY SERVICES Group has offset all the CO₂ emitted from its Ratingen headquarters in 2014 retroactively. To accomplish this, the Group invested in certified climate protection projects overseen by the climate protection organisation myclimate Deutschland gGmbH, such as the construction of wind turbines in Turkey, the use of biomass cookers in China and solar cookers in Madagascar. The contributions flow exclusively into projects with the Gold Standard, the highest certification standard for CO₂ projects.

One of the ways the DKV Group reduces its CO₂ emissions is to ensure all the electricity required for its Ratingen headquarters is generated from renewable sources. In addition, the whole company fleet drives climate neutrally because the fuel it uses is offset through the DKV CARD CLIMATE. Electric and hybrid vehicles can be charged at the charging points installed at the company headquarters and by using the DKV CARD +CHARGE. This hybrid card provides access to over 2000 public charging points in Germany and about 55,300 DKV acceptance points (of which 40,300 are fuel stations) across Europe.
