Brussels, 12 October 2017 – Be-Trans and DKV Euro Service have been closely collaborating for over 15 years. During those years both companies have been witnessing the evolution that took place in commercial transport. In today’s society, digital transformation is the key word if one wants to keep up with the developments in this industry. As both Be-Trans and DKV are fully aware of this need, they having been putting their cards on diverse forms of automation for years. A strategy that bears fruit…
In the past years, Be-Trans from Geel, Belgium has been investing considerable amounts in varying IT-solutions. Apart from a highly efficient records department this also produced them the Truck ICT Award. Bert Vranckx, CEO of Be-Trans explains: “Be-Trans can boast an annual growth of 10 to 15 per cent. These are rather unusual figures for a transport firm, and I am convinced that this growth is thanks to our incessant investment in IT. Our records department for instance has been very much simplified and automated. Thanks to DKV eREPORTING we now dispose of a very versatile analysis tool for optimum control of all DKV transactions relating to our fleet. This is a tool that for instance makes it possible for us to easily monitor the fuel consumption of each individual truck and the tolls paid for the vehicle. It’s the figures that tell the tale after all. Obviously, calculations like these greatly contribute to our firm’s competitiveness, which also comes as a benefit to our customers.”
Gertjan Breij, Managing Director of DKV Euro Service Benelux is fully aware of the many technological challenges involved. What’s more, he expects the speed of these changes to only pick up. “No change, no progress. Also for the transport industry it is very important to keep on investing in automation of the organisation. This goes for optimal route planning and for all actions involving fleet management. It requires a little courage and some degree of IT-intelligence on the part of management, and Be-Trans is a prime example of this. So we are very proud of the fact that Be-Trans has chosen for our DKV eREPORTING tool to monitor its fleet effectiveness.”
Founded in 1998, Be-Trans has ever since been building a robust reputation in commercial transport. In addition to container and covered transports, Be-Trans also provides complementary logistics services. The customer may for instance turn to Be-Trans for storage and transhipment, but also for stuffing, stripping and end-distribution. Be-Trans possesses 170 tractors and 350 trailers – including container chassis and covered and flat trailers – and it can as such guarantee all-in, fully integrated logistics services. Its more than 300 staff and its sales currently in the amount of 30 million euro demonstrate an annual growth between 10 and 15%. Early this year, and on account of its many years of considerable investment in various ICT-solutions, Be-Trans received the Truck ICT Award during the Transport & Logistics Awards event.
