We can look back at a successful preregistration period for the Belgian road charging system. On 1 October 2015, the registration of users and distribution of OBUs (on-board units) officially began. Companies have been able to preregister with DKV for some time, so that they would be immediately compliant with all the obligations surrounding the road charging system on heavy goods vehicles weighing more than 3.5 tonnes. We are now taking stock of the preregistration period and looking back with satisfaction.

Preregistration period

Gertjan Breij, the managing director of DKV Euro Service Benelux: “Since the announcement of the new charging system on Belgian roads, we sensed that there was a great deal of concern in the sector. It was not clear to companies what was expected of them and so they were afraid of missing the boat. That is exactly why we decided to step up a gear at DKV Euro Service Benelux, and give our customers the opportunity to register even before 1 October. During this preregistration period, we provided our customers with all the information they might need and news about the Belgian road charging system. Precisely because DKV tried to make the difference, focusing on taking away the customer’s worries, we found that many companies did effectively go ahead and sign up during the preregistration period.”

Companies can also come to DKV Euro Service Benelux during the official registration period for excellent service, including all the administrative aspects of the road charging system, and get a great deal.

Partners of UNICEF in the Netherlands As a service provider for the transport and logistics sector in Europe, DKV believes in making a difference. It not only does this by offering extensive services, but also by supporting its partner UNICEF Nederland with its project in Mozambique: ‘A fight against malnutrition, a fight against child mortality’.

Everyone who registers with DKV for the new Belgian road charging system automatically supports this project. There are no hidden costs and of course there are no registration fees to be paid.
