Eco Performance Award: News from the future

You can’t make an omelette without breaking eggs. In our branch, this means when we are driving, we are producing CO2. These emissions, however, can be reduced or avoided to a certain extent, for example with driver trainings, vehicle services and intelligent route navigation.

You can compensate remaining carbon dioxide emissions to 100% to actively support environmental protection – with the future DKV tank card for carbon dioxide-neutral tanking. You invest in certified climate protection projects (e.g. hydro power plants in Turkey, forest protection in Kenya and reforestation in Germany), thereby contributing to global CO2 compensation. In return, your company’s fleet drives 100% percent-neutral.

DKV Green Card

This not only helps our environment but also creates a clear competitive advantage for your company, because CO2-neutral business operations are ever more popular in the market. Make sure of the certification with TÜV seal that attests to the complete compensation of your CO2 emissions, and use this competitive advantage for your external marketing.

The “Eco Performance Award”

EPA logo

The Eco Performance Award has been a major prize for sustainability in commercial cargo transport in Europe since 2007. The prize and the prize money of €10,000 associated with it is awarded in two categories, based on the size of the enterprises involved or of the number of vehicles in the fleet that they possess.

The Award has the scientific support of the Department of Logistics Management of the University of St.Gallen, Switzerland, whose role it will be to guarantee a well-based scientific evaluation of all applications. The Eco Performance Award has been endowed as an independent seal of quality by DKV Euro Service. We have been able to acquire strong premium partners in the form of the renowned companies of Knorr-Bremse and PTV Group, that as global players comply with the ideals of the Eco Performance Award and further emphasise the importance of the award.

The jury presents itself: on this occasion Dr. Alexander HufnaglAfbeelding Herr Dr. Hufnagl

As the man in the cabin of the DKV MOBILITY SERVICES Group, Dr. Alexander Hufnagl guides the activities of the company. The graduate in mechanical engineering not only ensures operative leadership of the business sectors and strategic alignment, but also represents the company externally to the stakeholders and interested groups. These are tasks with much responsibility in a company that with its subsidiary companies looks back on a tradition spanning 80 years. Dr. Hufnagl is particularly proud of the initialisation and establishment of the Eco Performance Award in 2007, and as a member of the panel of experts, Dr. Hufnagl already looks forward to evaluating the concepts sent in and honouring the winners on 24 September 2014.
